Is Buying weed in Tbilisi Legal?
Georgia used to be a pretty severe state when it comes to cannabis/marijuana regulation in Tbilisi. People would be drug tested on a regular basis, and if they tested positive, they would face penalties. The laws were so severe that they sparked nationwide demonstrations. In 2018, the Constitutional Court ruled that the current statute is unconstitutional. As a result, cannabis is now lawful for personal possession and consumption, but production and sale of the substance is banned and can result in a lengthy jail term.
If you are allowed to acquire marijuana, there is no need to be concerned as long as you do not use it in public or in the presence of kids. If you have a few grams of marijuana on you, the police have limited legal recourse, but if you have a large amount, you might face significant consequences.
Where to Buy Weed in Tbilisi
Although the fact that cannabis is essentially decriminalized, the consumption and buying of weed in Tbilisi is extremely low. Cannabis is nearly tough to obtain if you don’t know anyone in Tbilisi. Because there is so much fake and synthetic marijuana on the market, it’s best not to ask too many questions out of fear of being taken advantage of. Georgia isn’t the finest state for smoking.
